Just in time for Father’s Day, J.C. Penney is launching its first Bonus Bucks event, inviting customers to earn Bonus Bucks from June 14 to 17 and redeem their Bonus Bucks from June 14 to 20.
For every $50 spent in a single transaction, customers can earn $10 in Bonus Bucks, up to three times during the promotional event. The Bonus Bucks are digitally credited within minutes of a store purchase, the company noted, allowing customers to earn and spend their Bonus Bucks the very same day. For online purchases, customers will receive Bonus Bucks as soon as their item ships. Customers can access their Bonus Bucks in the retailer’s mobile app wallet, online in their rewards account, and in store by asking an associate at the register.
Bonus Bucks are earned in addition to J.C. Penney rewards points, adding even more value for members of its customer loyalty program. To become a J.C. Penney Rewards member, a customer simply needs to provide their email address and phone number to begin earning Rewards points and Bonus Bucks on their in-store and online purchases.
“We know customers that are J.C. Penney Rewards members shop and spend more than twice as much as non-Rewards customers,” said Marci Grebstein, chief marketing officer for J.C. Penney. “As we look to drive sales and increase customer traffic, adding incentives to our loyalty program, such as the instant savings offered through Bonus Bucks, will be integral to enticing customers to shop us often.”
Bonus Bucks events will be supported with new promotional broadcast spots, as well as new in-store signage, digital marketing, dedicated email and more.
