Gauri Sawant,37 who is a transgender, mothered an embraced kid so competently that many out there can’t set out to do. Gauri is a transgender who was born and raised up in Pune and has been living in Mumbai from most recent 20 years. She recently appeared in an advertisement of the Vicks in India. She also works as a social activist these days. She changed herself from Ganesh to Gauri after she understood that there’s something that makes her vibe more like a lady. Gauri was destined to a conservative family in Pune. She lost her mother at the age of 9, after which her grandmother became her guardian. Living and growing up with her she got to know that unlike other boys she has interest in men or boys but not in the opposite sex. Her colleagues in school used to toss disparaging remarks at her.
As she grew older, she was astounded on her sexual orientation personality, as she had no clue what it is to be a gay. She couldn’t comprehend why she lied sprucing up in her grandma’s sarees and do with the cosmetics like a lady. During her gaduation, she felt uncomfortable dressing like a female thus she wore kurtas which are not particular to any gender. Soon, she perceived, inside her is a lady thus she cleared out her home.
The Humsafar trust helped her through her trip from Ganesh to Gauri. With a little group in 2000, she shaped a NGO in Mumbai named ‘Sakhi Char Chowghi’. She needed to help all the transgender there in the city. In the wake of a monotonous year of battle now she works with a group of 150 people who consistently extend assistance to all the transgender in need. She has been the candidate of the NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) which prompted presentation of a third sex in 2013.
