Ever since the turn of the century, we have been accustomed to a poor performance by the Bills. But this season the Buffalo Bills are with a great victory, winning games only big teams win. What’s different?
- Solid Defense
Even with two starters out due to injury, the Bills managed to own the game this weekend against one of the strongest offensive lines in the NFL. Shareece Wright and Trae Elston led a double coverage throughout the game that forced the Raiders to settle for painstaking short throws. The game was controlled by non-stars like Yarbrough, Johnson, and Elston that combined made for an outstanding defensive performance.
- Tyrod Taylor Game is Rising
Taylor is no stats the perfect quarterback. While the Bills are still hunting their perfect young QB, Taylor is managing the team perfectly with his better judgment overplays. In the past, he used to panic in the pocket and run when a clear pass didn´t come up, this time he kept his poise and managed to throw the ball at the right moment constructing 4 masterful plays.
- The Tre’Davious White Cover
Starting on the second defensive series, when the Raiders were beginning to score, the Bills send out rookie cornerback Tre’Davious White to shadow Amari Cooper. The move worked so well that Cooper was ineffective throughout the whole game. A similar strategy was used against Cincinnati.
- Preston Brown Finally Making it Right
In past games, Preston Brown had failed to be in the position as the middle linebacker. But this time he learned from past mistakes and forced several incompletions that burned time for other teams and won a turnover for the Bills. If Brown continues to do his role right the Buffalo’s will patch-up one of the few weakness they currently possess.
- Matt Milano the Surprise Starter
Rookie fifth-round pick Matt Milano got his chance when Ramon Humber went down with injury some weeks back. Since then 3 games have gone by and Milano outperforms himself on each, making hard for coach McDermott to remove him once Humber gets back on his feet. But it would be a shame to it, Milano, down when he is taking long strides forward in his game experience.
- Mc Coy Running More Yards
Against the Raiders Mc Coy corrected all the mistakes made vs Tampa and managed to gain more yards. The receivers made their job and helped Mc Coy score.
- Knowing How to End Games
On Week Four, the Bills were controlling the game against the Atlanta Falcons, up 14-10 and 12 minutes to play. The Bills declined to try for a touchdown and secure the game, going instead for a field goal after a field penalty and up 17-10. The Falcons come right back into the game and managed to tie the score.Against the Raiders that mistake was not made, with 13 points ahead and 15minutes to go, they avoided the field goal and went for the kill and scored a final touchdown to go up 27-7.So everyone is learning and growing in the Buffalo Bills and that makes fans happy, and we all ream for the day that might or might not come… but we wish it does.
